An onboard fuse or varistor that took a hit from a power surge, or a shorted component downstream. We replace it and find what killed it, so it does not happen twice.
BURNT RELAYS & TRIACS
The parts that switch the motor, heater or valve. They arc, overheat and burn their pads. We fit a new component and rebuild the damaged track underneath.
CRACKED SOLDER JOINTS
Years of heat and vibration crack the joints around connectors and power components. That is the intermittent fault no parts swap ever fixes — only resoldering.
SENSOR & POWER-SUPPLY CIRCUITS
A board that will not wake up, resets by itself or reads temperature wrong. Usually the low-voltage supply, a regulator or an input circuit — not the processor.
CHIP-LEVEL WORK & REBALLING
Where a BGA chip has lost contact we reball and reflow it on a proper hot-air station. Very few shops in this area are equipped to do it at all.
Straight answer: not every board is worth repairing. A failed processor or a badly cooked board is a replacement, and we will tell you that instead of charging you to find out. You get both numbers — repair and new board — before anything is done.

How much does control board repair cost?
Most board repairs land in the same range as any other repair we do, roughly $200 to $400 all in. A replacement board on many models starts around $400 before labor, and on some it is on backorder for weeks — which is why it is worth checking repair first.
Can every control board be repaired?
No. Around half of the boards we see are repairable. Blown fuses, burnt relays, sensor circuits and cracked solder joints are; a failed processor or a board that has been badly burned is not. We tell you which one you have before you spend anything.
How long does a board repair take?
